Graeae

The inspiration for this piece is the Greek mythological story of the Three Greys or the Old Witches that guarded the Gorgons, Medusa being one of them. The truck chosen is a 1940’s GMC. In the myth the old ones share one “eye” and one “tooth”. The cave setting adds a sense of dread and Carravaggio’s Medusa is painted on the truck’s door similar to a business logo. It was fun reinterpreting this myth using a vehicle. 84″ x 48″.
