The burdening economic situation facing our nation was the impetus in doing this symbolic work. The old crane reaching toward the sky and branded “America” is carried by a red trailer with a gold star indicating China’s financial support of our economy. From the broken crane hangs our flag while a little girl gazes at the distressed flag wondering what the future has in store. Broken Wind-powered turbines and non-working nuclear towers loom in the background a sign of the energy controversy facing our country. Then, there is the setting sun. Oil on canvas. 30″ x 40″.
