Diogenes

I used the legend of Diogenes, the old prophet carrying a lantern looking for an honest man, as the inspiration for this painting. Looking at a close up of the truck I noticed everything was broken except for one headlight and one small marker bulb on the driver’s side fender. Since the truck was so old and beat up with that one big headlight – all pristine and new compared to the rest of it, I just had to call it Diogenes. Oil on canvas. 36″ x 24″.
